Dear Sam,
I heard that you wanted to learn a new sport. While there are many options to choose from, I highly recommend you try cricket.
Recently, the ICC T20 World Cup held in the USA and West Indies has significantly boosted the sport’s popularity. Cricket shares similarities with baseball, which you played in high school, making it a natural fit for you. I believe cricket would be an exciting and rewarding choice.
Cricket mainly consists of two aspects: batting and bowling. As a batsman, your goal is to score runs by hitting the ball while protecting your wicket. Conversely, as a bowler, you aim to dismiss the batsman by hitting the stumps or inducing a mistake. Although cricket is straightforward in concept, it requires substantial practice to excel.
If you’re interested, we could start learning and practicing together at the nets. I have some basic knowledge that I can share with you. Please let me know if you’re up for it, and we can begin this weekend.
Looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
Hardik
