This report describes a comparison between the Australian workforce in five different industries which are service, manufacturing, agriculture, construction, and mining from 1962 to 2012. According to this line graph, the data will be divided into three main categories: industries with significant growth, such as service, as well as those experienced a decline, like manufacturing and agriculture, lastly sectors that stayed relatively stable, like construction and mining.
To begin with, regarding growing fields, manufacturing had started at roughly 52 percent in 1962. it had a gradual increase until it reached a peak at merely under 80 percent.
Meanwhile, concerning the decreasing trends, manufacturing started at around 25 percent in 1962 and faced a slight fluctuation between 1970 and 1990 before it suffered a dramatic decline until it reached around 10 percent at the end of the period. In case of agriculture branch, it initiated at just over 10 percent and encountered a downward trend to nearly 5 percent.
Looking specifically at the stable branches, construction began with nearly 10 percent in 1962, by the end of the period it reached 10 percent. In terms of mining, it dominated the least figures of only 1 percent in 1962 and remained relatively the same until 2010.
Overall, the most popular industry from the beginning of the period to its end was service, while the least was mining.
