The pie chart illustrates the percentage of British pupils able to speak other languages besides speaking English at one university in England from 2000 to 2010.

Overall, the highest number of students were able to speak Spanish in both 2010 and 2000. The percentage of speaking only another language or two other languages seemed to increase noticeably in the year 2010 compared to the year 2000 except for German which remained the same in percentage. However, the proportion of no other language speakers and only French speakers tends to recede in 2010 than 2000.

The students speaking Spanish only besides English remained in the highest position peaking at 35% from 30%. Similarly, the shares of students who could speak another language and two other languages both rose by 5% in 2010 becoming 20% and 30% respectively. On the other hand, students only speaking German remained at 10% which remained the same in 2010 as in 2000.

The proportion of bilingual students speaking French dropped in 2010 by 5%. But the group of students who could not speak any other language than English reduced to 10% in number becoming 10% in 2010 from 20% in 2000.
