Band 5+: You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The graph below shows the percentage of urban / suburban and rural households in a European country that had Internet access between 2008 and 2013.

The diagram illustrates the figures of cities or suburbs and countryside homesteads that had internet access in the year 2008 and 2013.

In overall,it can be seen that urban settlements had increased access to internet through out the period compared to the rural households.It is also notable that there has been increased access to data in both households in the duration.

The most significant feature is that in the year 2008,there was little to almost no access to internet in the rural areas,whereby it was just above 0 compared to urban site which was just above 10 households.

Another important point is that there was drastic increase in internet usage in rural areas in the year 2013 to approximately 35 percent.This is also noted in the urban settlements to about 55 percent.

It is also interestingly to note that urban and suburban areas have been on the limelight in internet usage throught the years as evidenced by the highest number of houdeholds accessing the internet compared to the rural homesteads.
