The bar charts illustrate the change in the proportion of the releases and ticket sales of four types of films, namely drama, comedy, fantacy and romance, in 1996 and in 2006.
Overall, it can be seen that the highest percentage of films were released in 2006, except in the category romance. The tickets of the comedy movie were sold the most in both year, with higher sales in 2006.
Considering the proportion of movie release, drama had the highest in both years, which accounted for above 25% in 1996 and 35% in 2006. It was followed by comedy and fantasy films, which released 20% and around 10% movies in 1996. Then, within 10 years both had a 5% increase in film release. The proportion of the release of romance cinema had no change and released nearly 8% movies in both years.
Turning to the sale of the tickets in 1996 and 2006, comedy movie’s tickets had the highest sale in both years, with 20% and around 23% respectively. Drama films, which had the second highest sale in tickets, showed a slight increase of 1% from 16% in 1996 to 2005. Fantacy and romance movies had 3% and 5% ricket sale by 1996, whe fantacy movies tickets sale increased to above 10% in 2006, romance dropped to 2%.
