The given bar and line graph shows the number of Japanese tourists travelling abroad between 1985 and 1995 and Australia’s share of the Japanese tourist market.
Around 15 million Japanese people travelled abroad in the year 1996, whereas around 6 percent of these visited Australia.
In the year 1985, about 5 million Japanese citizens travelled around the globe, with the number gradually increasing till the year 1990, with approximately 11 million people travelling abroad. The number of travellers kept rising till the year 1995, reaching to 15 million citizens. The only decline recorded in the year 1991 with a shortfall of around 500k people.
The data from the line graph records a similar uptrend with few exceptions. About 2 percent of people travelling abroad from Japan visited Australia in 1985, with an increase of 1 percent each year. The portion reached 5 percent, but recorded a sudden decline of nearly 1 percent the following year. Following a similar trend, more than 6 percent of the people visited Australia by 1993, slightly higher than that of 1994.
