The two pie charts compare the age profils traveling from UK to Spain between 1983 and 2003.
Overall, although the middle-aged travelers continued to place first place in proportion in both years, there was a significant increase the share of younger visitors, while the proportion of older tourists declined.
In 1983, the age of 35-54 dominated among all ages, represantong half of the pie chart with 50%. In contrast, much more younger group with 16-24 age gap are only taking 4%.In the second place there are younger tourists, wich are between 25-34 years making 20%. The following group is visitors wich are 55 year and older having 16%. Suprisingly, kids aged between 0 and 15 are higher than 16 and 24 with 10%.
Twenthy years after, in 2003, there were significant changes in this year. For example,35-64 tourists percentage decreased to 35% and 16-24 group, which were the lowest, grew to 15%. At the same time, the 55 older visitors increased two times to 26%, while the 0-15 group remained relatively stable at 12%. Furthermore, the proportion of 25-34 year visitors decreased for 8%.
In summary, the interest for exploring Spain grew among young population of UK, whereas the appeal among older tourists weakened, though middle-aged groups still accounted for the majority of travelers.
