The bar graph illustrates the changing trends of overweight adult population, in percentage, from Japan, Finland, Australia and USA during the period of 1980, 1990 and 2000.
One striking feature of the graph is that USA in 2000 had the highest population whereas Japan in 1980 had the fewest overweight adults throughout the period.
Looking at the details, the graph shows the upward trends of all countries. USA topped the list with around 34 percentage of adult population in 2000 while Japan recorded as the lowest population with just under five percent in 1980. In a comparison, after three decades, overweight adult populations in USA increased double by 2000.
Additionally, Australia and Finland stood at the second and third largest place of adult population who were overweight. Finland attained with 7 percent in 1980, steadily increased to nearly 10 percent and hit its peak at just under 15 percent in 2000. In comparison with, Australia had almost equal population number with Finland in 1980 and followed by a sudden increased to around 25 percent by 2000.
