The bar chart below illustrates total health spendings as proportions of GDP’ for different nations in Europe for the years 2002, 2007 and 2013

Overall, Switzerland had the highest percentage of expenditure with around 11 percent. In contrast to Estonia which had the lowest proportion of expenditure with about 3 percent. Four countries – Belgium, Estonia, Spain, and Switzerland had no changes over the period of time. Belgium and Switzerland had a similar spendings with the difference of only 1 percent between them. Lithuania, Poland, and Slovenia had a similar trend of expenditure with same proportion in years 2002 and 2007 and increased by 1 percent in year 2012

Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Slovania had increase in amount of expenditure in year 2012 whereas France, Luxembourg, Netherlands has decrease in amount of expenditure in year 2012. The expenditure in netherlands fell over the years. France’s expenditure had a sinusoidal trend peaking in year 2007 at around 13 percent and falling to 9 percent in year 2012.
