The given bar chart illustrates the amount of global population in percents in four nations in the years 1950 and 2002, and predictions for 2050.

As can be seen, only India’s population is forecasted to increase in future. On the contrary, Japan’s population is going to have the least percentage from total by the year 2050.

In 1950, a number of people living in India made up to 15% of the global population, whilst this figure was the lowest for Japan – just below 5%. By 2002, the trend for India grew by about 3%, and the opposite was faced by Japan. Half a century later, it is anticipated that India’s population will be about a fifth from the total, as for Japan this number is expected to be the lowest (approximately 2%).

China’s percentage of the total world popluation peaked in 1950 (at almost a quarter). The USA figure was accounted for about 5 times less. Over 52 years China’s trend dropped to 20% of the whole populatino, while USA’s figure dropped to 5% of the total. By 2050, it is expected that China’s number will fall to 15%, while USA’s number is foreseen to be the same.
