The line chart illustrates the average monthly fluctuations in the costs of three metals – Cooper, Nickel, and Zinc over the course of 2014.
Overal, it is noticeable that Nickel, despite its leading position at the start of the period, experience a downward trend in the final month, whereas Zinc, followed a downward trajectory in the first month and show an upward trend towards the end. Additionally, the prices of all three metals remained relatively stable in over the same three-month period.
At the beginning of the period, Nickel predominated over two metals accounting for 6% in January, before decreasing considerably to just over 0.3% in March. After reaching its lowest point in June making up to -3%, the figure plateaued at -1% from July to September, following by a gradual rise to 1% in December. Copper decreased with some fluctuation throughout the period, starting at 2% and ending up accounting for roughly 1,7%.
By contrast, Zinc started at around 1% before falling to -2% in March. It then fluctuated slightly, followed by a gradual rise towards the end of the period, reaching approximately 2% in December.
