The charts illustrate the percentages of people employed by manufacturing, hospitality, engineering and teaching in two years (2009 and 2020).
Overall, it is possible to observe that shares of workers in engineering significantly dropped from 2009 to 2020; in contrast, manufacturing experienced the opposite trend. In addition, percentages of people who had a job hospitality and teaching remained quite stable.
In particular, what emerges from the graphs is that shares of individuals working in the engineering sector fell from 60% in 2009 to 17% in 2020. On the other hand, proportions of manufacturing workers registered an upward trend, climbing from 20% in 2009 to 60% in 2020, representing the highest employing sector that year.
In spite of this, some sectors did not experience dramatical fluctuations. In particular, percentages of individuals employed in teaching and hospitality slightly decreased from 9% and 11% in 2009 to 8% and 15% in 2020 respectively.
