Dear Mr Smith,

I would like to request a reduction in my future working hours in line with an upcoming academic opportunity.

In order to advance my skills in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI), I have decided to undertake a graduate diploma in this field. I believe that learning more about this AI and its application in the creative industry like ours would immensely benefit my workflow. This will, as a result, assist in delivering our Adobe projects much efficiently.

The duration of my course is two years if studied on a part-time basis and classes run every Friday only. Therefore, I would appreciate it if my caseload of projects is reduced and that my contract is reduced from working 37 hours to working 30 hours from Monday to Friday. I would be happy to discuss this matter further with you during our next supervision meeting.
