Dear Sam,
I was over the moon when I heard about you getting a new job through your letter! First of all, congratulations for that. Although, I won’t be able to make it to your farewell party due to other commitments.
As you know, I was learning driving from the past couple of months. I booked a test after long wait as it is almost impossible to get a desired test date in our city. When I got an invitation for your celebration which happens to be on the same date as my test day, I tried to reschedule my appointment which were declined by the authority due to an excessive traffic and demand.
Furthermore, as I am tired of using public transport for everyday commute, I am planning to buy a new car, For that, I need a driving license. Hence, I cannot miss my driving test. However, I am sending a gift with this letter. Please let me know your feedback regarding it.
Moreover, I am wishing you all the luck for your new role. As a teammate, you used to go above and beyond for any task. In addition, you used to push us to gain more skills that can help us in future. As a result, you are selected for new job.
I sincerely apologize for not coming to the party and wishing you best of luck again.
Yours sincerely,
Smit Parmar
