Dear Mr. White,

I’m writing to you to complain about an inconvenient situation that has been happening for the past three weeks in our building. From the apartment of our neighbor, Jim Carvert, who, like us, lives on the 4th floor, loud music is coming almost every day until 1:00/2:00 pm.

I’ve tried to persuade him many times that such behavior is truly inappropriate and disrespectful, but he didn’t want to listen. Instead, he continues to listen to really loud and annoying music almost every night. He replied to me that he is never at home during the day because of his work as a cook, and for this reason, it’s the only moment he has.

I decided to write to you because his behavior is causing me unbearable damages: my workplace is 1 hour by car from our flat, and I have to wake up early in the morning to get there. I’ve suffered from concentration problems at work due to the lack of sleep he has caused me.

I suggest that you send him a formal warning, because I think his behavior is not only disrespectful, but it also violates the rules of our building.
