When it comes to university education, there are differing opinions on the matter. It is better to explore both sides of the argument for a comprehensive understanding. In this essay, both sides of the topic will be discussed, followed by my opinion.
Supporters of free education argue that providing free education is beneficial for disadvantaged backgrounds who do not get an education due to money. This is because, when a university offers free education to every student, that helps the country in every aspect, such as literacy rate and the country’s growth. For instance, if a university provides free education to students, that not just enhances our literacy rate but it also helps our GDP and economy. Moreover, offering free education educates every person in this country who is not from an affluent background.
On the other hand, opponents of free education contend that universities should take fees from students because of their limited resources. This means, if a university does not have money, it would be difficult for them to buy instruments which help children with their education. For instance, offering free education may harm universities because they have to calculate their expenses and have to fulfill teachers’ and staff’s salaries. In addition, if a university provides free education, which can create a financial strain.
After considering both arguments, I am inclined to support students paying for their higher education. I find the argument for paying for education more compelling because it balances both sides for finance and education.
In conclusion, while paying for education can have benefits for finance, this can have drawbacks for poor children. In my opinion, the benefits of paying for education always outweigh the limitations.
