We are currently living in a modern society with the widespread development of social media platforms, it is inevitable that everything famous people do or say grab attention. And fans hold a desire to know more about their idol’s daily life. Thus, media will upload celebrities’ personal information to satisfy the audiences’ demand. Drawing upon my personal observations, I do concur with the statement above and I think it is of great necessity for journalists and media outlets to publish relevant information which is not adversely affected to famous people.
There exists a relationship between public personalities and media. Famous people need media attention to build up their career by divergent means of media, so broadcast media will be responsible for uploading news about their upcoming projects, events, films, albums, … For instance, when a person debuts to become a singer, she/he really needs netizens’ attention to widely promote her/his song product.
On the flip side, public personalities, like other individuals, have the right to keep their personal information private and they do not long for other people interfering with their private life. Owing to the fact that they are influencers, public figures are anxious about such bad news directly putting impact on their reputation. As an illustration, a well-known Tik Tok channel called as “Chua Biet” specializes in shedding light upon KOL’s tumultuous background without any specific evidence. Obviously, it is a wrong behavior which puts celebrities in a state of severe criticism. What’s more, publishing personal information about celebrities can have significant consequences for their mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. Media outlets should consider the potential harm their reporting may cause.
All in all, I stick to my interpretation that it is unacceptable for public media to inform celebrities’ personal information. Instead, they had better take into consideration prior to releasing public figures’ news to avoid grave consequences.
