In the past decade, the competition of beverages companies selling sweet drinks has been intense, causing variety options and cheaper price of sweet drinks. Therefore, the rate of sweet drinks consumption has been increasing rapidly, which is not a good sign for people’s health. This essay will explain some reasons of the increase in sweet drinks consumption, why it is dangerous, and sharing some suggestions on how to reduce the consumption level.
The number of options to buy sweet beverages has been increasing rapidly due to beverages companies wanting to constantly innovate to compete in the market. The impact of variety options mean that there are higher chance for people to have at least one sweet drink that is according to their likings. For instance, in the early eighteen centuries, there are no bubble tea nor canned drinks sold in the market unlike today. Furthermore, beverages companies also set a low and affordable price for sweet drinks, allowing wider range of target markets. Coca Cola that only rich people can afford in the past, can now be bought by people from almost every economy levels. The two reasons contributes to the increase of sugar-based drinks consumption today.
The high consumption of sweet-based drinks can be a dangerous sign, since the sugar level of the drinks offered in the market are relatively high. Human have limits on glucose consumption on a daily basis, which if not maintained well might risk on their health conditions. To reduce the sugary drink consumption, it is suggested that consumers understand the risk of drinking too much sugar-based drinks and find an alternative. Although drinking unsweetened beverages can be less preferable, currently there are a lot of options for sugar-free drinks such as green tea or black tea which can be promoted to consumers for the sake of health reasons.

This can be dangerous if consumers consume sugary drinks above their limit, so they can find unsweetened sugar drinks as an alternative for health purpose.
