In our current society, some people argue that mathematical skills are considered not crucial for numerous occupations. While I believe that maths really helps us to enhance the critical and logical thinking and therefore is the key factor for several jobs, I also support the view that the intimate knowledge of maths is not essential to seek various job opportunities since calculation or statistics can be done by computer.
It is undeniable that having a comprehension of math is not vital for a variety of employments in today’s modern society. Some companies recruit their employees based on social knowledge which don’t need math skills. For example, journalists, MC or content creator also require special knowledge and skills such as communication skills, improvisation skills and in-depth knowledge of history rather than logical thinking. Moreover, workers don’t need to be good at calculate such as working out bills or managing money because these commission tasks can be completed by computer which automate the whole process and are more accurate than human’s performance. Besides, some employments only focus on fitness or talent such as athlete or artist which requires hour of practice their fitness or special talent everyday.
On the other hand, the significance of math skills in some occupations regarding business, technology, medicine … is undisputed. The better understanding of math can help the practioners in the field of medicine make fewer mistakes calculating the dose of medicine and equip them with a deep comprehecing prior to making decision or diagnosing. In addition, having a logical thinking can give workers a variety of opportunities to seek a luxury job such as data scientist that concentrate on managing huge datas.
