According to many studies conducted about the social status having an effect on our lives, confirm the harsh reality, namely that social class still has an influence on different social aspects, such as work and education. However, situation could be diverse between countries, in fact not all social systems are affected by this trend.
If we consider the nothern european countries, both educational path and working carrer are poorly related to social class, as their institutional mechanisms are well functioning. By contrast, southern European countries suffering from a lack of investements in key economic sectors, this make them weaker and more exposed to social class.
If social class is defined by family conditions of course we can conclude that, unfortunately, nowadays without any access to the “right” social network, many doors would be closed. Specifically, for those who have been living in southern countries, in which institutional structures appear broken.
Yet, it is also true that values such as kindness and trust, still play a singnificant role in our society. One clear example might be the workplace, without trusting each other, members of a working team would be less productive and efficient. A further consideration is related to all the humanitarian organization, which have always utilized the kidness as a tool, to improve many depressed areas around the world.
Lastly, possessing material things (or having an higher social status) may help you live with no worries of being left out from society, but kindness and trust are the things that can truly make you happy and relieved in life.
