It is commonly believed that prohibiting advertisements would bring benefits to the society, as they are mainly purposeless and can have negative effects. Although adverts help businesses grow and makes it easier to buy things, I completely agree with the idea of banning them because they waste viewers’ time and annoys them.
When someone decides to purchase some items, it may be difficult to choose proper ones. In this case, adverts are very helpful since they provide essential information about the products, which simplifies the process of searching and comparing. In addition to that, companies might also benefit from posting their adverts publicly. It happens because people who see those ads might decide to purchase them, which boosts the company’s sales. As a result, the process of promotion is a very profitable marketing way both for consumers and manufacturers.
On the other hand, the afore mentioned points do not always work. When this happens, people end up wasting their time spent to see the advertising. For instance, many various websites nowadays use pop-up commercials that last at least a few seconds. If someone comes across a number of them, they will waste time that could be spent more productively. Furthermore, individuals’ health can also be affected by advertisements. If a person considers this type of content annoying, they can feel stressed, which in the long turn will kill their nerves. Eventually, advertising is usually a reason for wasting very important resources: time and health.
In conclusion, even if posting adverts can grow businessmen’s profits and make the purchasing experience more time-saving, the negative influences that advertisements have make the idea of banning them rational and widely-supported.
