From all around the world, it is obvious that the gap between the wealth and the poverty is widening. The following essay will first represent the issues caused by this phenomenon and then indicating measures could be done to address.
Undoubtedly, there are various alarming problems which are led by the income inequality. First of all, many people cannot even earn enough money just to cover their basic necessaties while some of the elite have wasted money for luxurious things. Taking impoverished familes, who live below the poverty line, as an example, facing acute food shortages and lacking access to quality education have hampered their efforts to move ahead in life. As a consequence of extreme poverty, these people are more likely to fall into social evils, such as robbery, smuggle, hijack. Another serious situation is that it slows the poverty reduction progress which has been conducted for decades. In fact, due to living paycheck to paycheck, a great deal of people do unstably multiple works but still being on the breadline. Hence, our society cannot break the vicious cycle of poverty.
Nevertheles, a variety of feasible solutions could be taken to alleviate the inequitable distribution of wealth. Specifically, the Government should offer free education, financial incentives and improve social welfare, including healthcare to enable poor people to afford school fees and medical treatment. As a result, it would promote them to endeavour to pursue their own practical success, thereby lowering the crime rates. From an economic-socio standpoint, these practices would also shorten the disparity between the rich and the poor. This is because penniless individuals still have opportunities to become physically fit, well-educated and even to make a rags-to-rich journey. Therefore, everyone can work together towards a more equal society, although the welfare trap has seemed to be unresolvable matter.
In conclusion, the inequility in income has contributed to the illegal activities and chronic poverty. To mitigate this severe issue, both the Government and individuals can take a range of actions to remove the poverty, such as driving and investing in social welfare, public facilities.
