On the one hand, accessing the internet through a computer offers a lot of benefits for minors. The most significant benefit is its educational value. The internet, of course, provides so many resources for learning, from tutorial videos on Youtube and free courses on websites to large materials for doing research. Students now can easily use these platforms to support their academic performance, making it more interactive and engaging. Another advantage of internet connectivity for youngsters is its convenience. This is simply because it allows students to learn online whenever and wherever. To give an example, during the national excellent student contest, all of my school are forced to stay at home, so if we have a lesson that day, we are able to easily start our class through the study website.

On the other hand, internet access also has several potential disadvantages. One of the major concerns is the risk of harmful content. Without supervision, minors may encounter inappropriate materials that can negatively influence their emotion and mental well-being. For instance, some kids who tend to imitate others’ actions, if they see someone being violent, they may do the same and attack their friends. Another issue is excessive screen time. Children, nowadays, enjoy playing video games very much. This activity can lead to visual problems such as eye strain, which is really inconvenient for their life.

In conclusion, accessing the internet through computers offers a lot of advantages and disadvantages as well. By monitoring and teaching kids how to use computers effectively, parents can help them maximize these benefits and avoid its risks.
