Currently, there are increasing concerns about the animal rights in the context of animal overexploitation of human. This phenomenon has led to an ongoing argument whether animals should serve for personal purposes of human regardless of harmful impacts on them or not. I will express my disapproval for the former viewpoint, which will be elaborated on the following essay.
From the healthcare’s perspective, the practice of conducting experiments on animals for developing new medicines raises ethical concerns. Numerous bussiness and companies nowsadays is widely using animal testing to develop new medicines, which ensures the safety for human. There would be some limitations in this method by dint of the differences in cell structures and genetics between animals and humans. Thus, this would result in inaccurate results and side effects when applying animal-testing products for human, urging scientists to use alternative methods.
From the entertainment’s standpoint, the booming of illegal poaching and hunting activities could regarded as inhumanity and against animal rights. In several zoos and circus, some owners would force animals to perform as entertainers to satisy human’s amusement. Thus, they would have to learn skills or tricks by threatening and beating on a daily basis. This is a clear example of how animals are subjected to physical and psychological harm for the sake of human pleasure.
In conclusion, based on aforementioned explanantions, I firmly believe that animal rights should not be overlooked or ignored for only serving the needs of human beings. By recognizing the value and the rights of animals, human being could strive for the better civilisation.
