Band 4+: Around the world, rural people are moving to cities and urban areas, so populations in the countryside are decreasing. Is this a positive or negative development?

Having huge flow to cities from countryside cause decreasing human rhesus at rural areas and villages. Even though indicators are positive for some people, l believe this tendency has negative impacts overall.

First of all, human flow to cities creates overpopulation and other related problems along with that. Increasing number of people effects unemployment rates negatively. The growth of the unemployed and poor people brings with it an increase in crime rates and poverty rates. On the other hand, this increase creates traffic and congestion in cities. Car and human traffic triggers environmental pollution. For example, nowadays we observe more pollution on cosmopolitan cities such as Mumbai, Tokio, where has huge and poor population.

Second, reducing human resources at rural areas also decreasing agriculture policy of government and have negative effect improvement of countryside. Most of people who eager to cities are young aged, so it creates sharp age diferance between generations. Along with this, investors’ interest to those places decline day by day. This circumstance would result negatively producing power. Deterioration of living conditions further increases migration to cities.

İn conclusion, l belive human migration to cities results massive envorimental and socio-economic problems.
