People’s societies find a significant part of their identity in art and music, so some propose to include these subjects to a school curriculum. I tend to think that the contemporary world of technology does not displace art and music from people’s lives but creates new opportunities for art creation. At the same time, I believe that school education should provide basic knowledge in the arts.
I am not close to the idea that there is no space for art and music in today’s world of technological progress. On the contrary, I believe that modern advancement carves new niches in the sphere of arts. For example, when computers became a part of our casual life, there was a surge of new genres of music such as various kinds of electronic music that could not exist without that technology. Moreover, visual art is developing due to technology too, many artists use graphics tablets or artificial intelligence to create new works of art.
On the other hand, school education should involve and combine developing
of hard skills in modern technology and general knowledge in arts including classical forms of art. In my opinion, this way of learning will benefit children and the whole society by preparing well-adjusted people developed in different spheres of life who are ready to face many challenges.
In conclusion, there is enough space for art and music in the modern world of technology, furthermore technology multiplies forms of arts. However, school education should pay attention to different spheres of life and classical cert is not the exception.
