With developing technology, Nations are also developing and citizens are preferring to buy their own automobile. Overall, this is because people want to lead a more comfortable and prestigious lifestyle. In contrast, buying more cars can cause harm to environment in multiple ways as it car emits excessive air pollutants.

In the modern era, citizens are well educated and they can easily get a stable job with better salary. Moreover, in order to live a lavish lifestyle and to make a position among their peers they tend to buy their own car. This type of lifestyle can bring material satisfication and a feeling of relaxation to an individual. This feeling allows employee to focus better on their work and helps them in living a happy life ahead. Similarly, owning a car can be convienient and it can save time for citizens. They can easily travel to the place they want at anytime. For instance, recent study shows that seven in ten employees of tata consultancy services travel to their work place by their own vehicle.

On the other hand, despite these benefits buying one’s own automobile has an adverse effect on the environment. This is because cars emit large quantities of carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide which are harmful air pollutants that further result in air pollution. Furthermore, these pollutants can penetrate deep into lungs and cause pulmonary diseases such as asthma, pneumonia and lung cancer. For example, recent research shows that in India, 35% of people are affected by air pollutions annually.

To conclude, while owning a car offers certain personal benefits, the significant harm to the environment clearly outweighs these advantages.
