Many people believe that private cars are being overly purchased and used along with the development of many nations. Although there are numerous benefits of possessing individual vehicles, I strongly agree that the drawbacks of this situation are more prevail.
On one hand, it is understandable that people are likely to purchase their own cars for its privacy and flexibility. Obtaining a car brings a lot of convenience within a family, car owners experience an absolute privacy, they can drive alone or having their relatives and friends inside the car without the disruption of strangers. Moreover, the foremost advantage while using a private car is fixed routes and schedules are not limited, people can travel anywhere and anytime they want.
On the other hand, there are huge concerns about the large number of private cars in many countries, which adversely affects the environment in many ways. Firstly, fueled engine vehicles produce emissions such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, which create greenhouse gases that causes air pollution. This problem does not only impact on the environment but also on human well-being. Secondly, another issue that owning a car can cause are road congestions and traffic jams. To solve this, people should use public transportation instead of driving their own cars, and the governments need to focus on improving street infrastructures.
To sum up, it is undeniable that possessing a private vehicle can bring a lot of convenience for individuals. However, there are also bigger disadvantages of this can cause, which should be raised among people to enhance their awareness about saving the environment by using more public transportations.
