In today’s world, it is becoming popular for more people are buying and using their own cars. While I recognize its underlying disadvantages, the benefits of this trend, in terms of improving people’s commuting experiences should not be overlooked.
Admittedly, the trend for purchasing personal vehicles can deteriorate cities’ environment. If there were more cars on the traffic roads, including both public transports and an increasing number of personal vehicles powered by gas, there would be more gas emissions, which would thereby lower the air quality. For instance, many cities’ gas emissions are increasing since the releases of more and more cars owned by people, leading to issues of air quality. This can jeopardize individuals’ health as well as cities’ environment, if there were no restrictions for personal cars’ emission and their constant use. Therefore, the environmental harms have justified my view of limiting constant use of personal cars.
However, the potential benefits of this trend are also obvious. People can have more convenient commuting experiences with their own cars, which could save lots of time, compared to taking the subway to go to their companies, especially in rush hour. A clear example is that those who bought their cars may feel more comfortable with heading to where they work because of the saved time. This enables people to have more flexible daily routines, as they can utilize their own cars to avoid rush hour of traffic. On balance, the trend for people purchasing and using their own cars generates more benefits than drawbacks due to its capacity to make commuting more time-efficient.
In conclusion, I firmly believe the development for more people are purchasing and using their own cars create more advantages than disadvantages, because this helps save their time from going to work, despite seeing the fact that it may jeopardize the environment.
