Nowadays, thanks to globalization countries can build a bridge between countries, allowing them to have access to a wide range of goods, and many items including those we consume on a daily basis are produced in another country and need to be transported long distance. Although global trade give greater access to rare goods that country cannot afford, i believe the disadvantages of this phenomenon outweigh its advantages because long distance trade may damage the quality of daily products.
One of the advantage of the global trade is the accessibility for rare items. If countries cannot manufacture goods for construction, they can import these equipment in different countries that have opportunities to produce such items. For example, one country want to build some facilities to their cities, however, for construction they need concrete brick, lead and whatnot. These equipment may be difficult to produce in their local industry and global trade enables them to obtain items that they wanted for their necessities. Hence, international trade permits the countries to have access to vast array products that they cannot afford.
The main disadvantage of international trade is the risk of losing the quality of day-to-day products. This is because long distance transportation can spoil the quality of daily products. Some products may not endurance long-distance road, allowing them lose their fresh taste and quality. It means that the country which imports products from other countries have to dump these products since it may damage the health of people in the country. Hence, low-quality products have low nutritional value, meaning that these products may damage peeple’s health.
In conclusion, global trade enables to other countries to have access to wast array of products ranging from equipment to daily products. Even though international trade can offer rare items for countries that cannot produce in their own country, in my opinion, when the daily products transported long distances they may spoil in the road and lose their quality, damaging the condition of people who will consume these products.
