The question of whether high salary being in a greater importance than job contentment has long been a topic of debate, with some believing that high income gives the opportunity to afford a better lifestyle, while critics argue that job fulfilment is far more crucial. I personally support the former viewpoint as it provides an ability to retire earlier, sustain mental health and generally give people luxurious life that can be used at any case of emergencies.
Proponents of job gratification being better option often highlight increase in career and personal development. When workers feel pleasure by their actions, they tend to implement their talents which gives them boost of confidence. This, in turn, can lead to making an impact on society by attending non-profit organizations and helping out people in need, which represents true value and meaning of their jobs, making them feel delighted by their performance. In this regard, career satisfaction takes center stage on personal improvement and social prosperity.
Despite the benefits of job satisfaction, it often fails to compete with the benefits and significance of high earning. Firstly, one key advantage of having a high salary is retiring earlier and spending rest of your life on something you truly enjoy doing, like traveling. As early retirement means saving money and investing it on various stock markets, it eventually reaches a point where your investment income covers your monthly bills giving you an ability to quit the job that you do not feel content. Beyond this, high-paying jobs help maintaining in balance people’s mental health. By earning a lot, individuals don’t have to worry about it being not enough nor they are concerned about unpaid debts that could cause anxiety and depression, thereby not only it is a remarkable feature, but also a huge reassurance. Thus emotional supports are often likely to benefit workers whereas job satisfaction do not have the same transformative impact on career growth potential and overall well-being
In conclusion, although job fulfilment is great of importance for self-development and inner joy, it should not take precedence over other crucial sectors. Given that early retirement, overall well-being in case of accidents and generally high degree of comfort and luxury, I firmly believe that high income has possessed it’s social and mental benefits.
