Animal experimentation has helped develop life saving medicines and treatments, but it has also caused pain and suffering to many animals. Did you know numerous people believe it is wrong to harm animals for human benefits, while others argue that it is necessary for scientific research.
This essay will argue that is animal testing acceptable important for medical research, or if we should limit it and replace it with better other alternatives whenever it is possible.
Firstly, Many people believe that animal testing is unfair because it causes pain and suffering. Animals are living creatures and can feel stress, fear, and pain during experiments. Some tests, especially those for personal care products or cleaning products, they are seen as unnecessary. People argue that these types of products are not important enough to justify harming animals. Also in many labs, animals are kept in small cages and poor conditions which makes the situation even worse for them.
On the other hand, animal experiments have helped doctors and scientists find new treatments for diseases. Without testing on animals, it would be difficult to know if new drugs are safe for humans. For example, many life saving vaccines and medicines, such as insulin whcih can help with curing people with diabetes, were first tested on animals. Some people believe that if the research is for serious medical purposes, it can be acceptable. Even though it is not very ideal for us, they think it helps protect human lives.
Inconclusion, animal testing has both positive and negative results, it can cause harm to animals and is sometimes used for less important products, it has also helped in developing important medical treatments. I believe animal testing should only be allowed for serious medical research, and we should continue finding better and more alternatives for the future.
