Cars, for numerous reasons, have always been one the main transport preferred by people. However, in the latest century, it has become always more common seeing cities clogged by traffic.
A variety of new car companies and brands are born with the aim of satisfying the needs of every person, thus becoming more appealing and also affordable almost for everyone. The result is that the majority of the population owns a car and takes part to the congestions of the cities roads. The consequences are alarming, for example accidents and air pollution are reported to increase every year.
To confront and manage this issue a big role has to be played by the governments. For instance, developing and improving the public transport services could be a huge answer to the problem and could provide a valid alternative for people travels, diminishing the foul-up and freeing the cities streets. Differently, establish some city zones where the use of the car is forbidden and making transgressors pay a fine would be another, more incisive, move.
Personally, in my city, I always move by car or motorbike because there a shortage of public transport and the ones offered aren’t well organized, flexible and comfortable. I believe that these are also the reasons why people favor car instead of different transfers. I feel that only by balancing the needs of the population with the offer of efficient and effective communal transports it will be possible to solve this problem and to give a turning point.
