Although some people advocate that celebrities have no right to complain when they feel the media are intruding on their privacy, it also causes many problems as some people claim that they also have the right to complain. In my view, I strongly agree with this idea.
There are some reasons why some people advocate that celebrities have no right to complain if they feel interrupted. The most prominent one is because it is already their responsibility. For instance, according to the survey in 2024 in the United States, around 60% of individuals agree that famous people should not protest when they feel a lack of privacy because it is already their choice to become a star. Moreover, some people think that public figures have chosen to live in the spotlight which makes them unable to complain to the media.
Despite these arguments, there are also some significant reasons why others disagree with this idea. The first one is because celebrities are also human beings which make them need the same amount of privacy. The second one is to protect their mental health. For example, according to the health institution’s data in Canada in 2025, around 80% of public figures experience stress due to lack of privacy in the digital media.
As discussed above, in my opinion, celebrities have the right to protest if they feel that the media has gone too far in their personal life. Moreover, celebrities are also human beings who deserve the same amount of privacy as us.
