Nowadays a large number of intelligent students has increasingly increased, with the majority of them being young children. They are required to take the growing number of tests and exams, often starting as early as the age of 5 or 6, continuing until they turn 18. However is this development positive or are there more drawbacks than advantages?. I strongly believe the advantages weigh the disadvantages.
I will start by looking at the advantages. The main benefit of children are assigned increasingly number of tests and exams is that they can understand their strengths and weaknesses in their studies through this way. As a result, they might to try enhance these sides. For example when I received a poor result on my test, I was able to indentify my both strengths and weaknesses and I made effort to enhance on the areas where I need to improve.
Secondly, it increased motivation. This mean that students can see their classmates results and might feel that their own results are lower than others which drive them to work harder and improve their skills. Additionally, achieving good results in tests provide students with a sense of accomplishment
On the other hand, it can influence pupils mental health through stress and pressure. For example, if students unable to perform well in exams , it might affect their mental health. As a result, it can lead to decrease motivation, loss of self-believe and learning efficiency. Another major disadvantage is that it create competitive envorinment., leading to jealousy or hatred among classmates.
To conclude, there are both negatives and positives of children are assigned increasingly number of exams and tests. Exams can help students to learn better and motive them to improve. However they can cause stress and pressure which might harm students mental health. Personally, I believe that having more tests can be beneficial for students, as it helps them to better prepare for their future.
