In many parts of the world, the number of overweight children is increasing and making it a serious issue in society. I believe there are various possible reasons for this tendency and the consequences that accompany it.
On the one hand, there are two main factors that contribute to childhood obesity. Firstly, children have a habit of consuming a lot of junk food and soft drinks instead of healthy diets. But these foods contain a lot of fat and sugar – which directly causes obesity. Secondly, electric devices account for a lot of children’s time. They are likely to sit for an hour to play games or watch a film instead of doing some outdoor activities. Thus, the calories they consume aren’t used and become fat in their body. For example, if you drink a Pepsi can, you absorb 103 calories and you have to run about 2 km to use up it. But If you don’t do anything, just sit around and play games, these calories will become fat and increase your weight.
On the other hand, this phenomenon can have effects on personal and economy. When someone is overweight, they will have structure to do things in daily life, if they are in serious conditions, they can even take a step and fully depend on their family.Obesity also can lead to many health problems such as heart issues, stress, high blood pressure. All of this can make their daily life difficult. In addition, the economy will be affected by obese people. In case they can land a job and cannot contribute to the general economy of countries, the economy of that nation can just develop in slow movement. Let alone they also consume several money welfare benefits when they take medicine.
In conclusion, fast food and lack of outdoor activities are the main causes of childhood obesity and this bias has a bad effect on personal and economy in general.
