Parental advice is crucial to a child’s development. Thus, many are of the opinion that they should always adhere to their parent’s take on issues. This essay argues that it is compulsory for children to listen fathers and mothers. This is because they have a lot of valuable experience and life lessons which can sharpen the life of their kids.Many care givers have gained valuable experiences by going through the challenges of life and if This lessons are shared with a child, he or she will avoid making the same mistakes like his mother or father did in the past. For example, the proportion of university graduates in nigeria has significantly increased because most young ones stuck strictly to the advises given by their fathers and mothers to face their studies and avoid bad gangs. In return, they are able to graduate with good grades,make their parents proud and be better citizens who contribute greatly both intellectual and economically to the country’s growth.
However, others are of the opinion that younger ones should be able to take independent decisions because it happy and fufilled later in life. In addition, some parents give wrong Advice to their children for selfish interest and this makes the him or her regret later in life. For instance, nowadays, many parents force their children to study courses that they are not interested in because they want to be addressed as the parent of the child. For this reason, several fall into depression and risk of mental health issues because they can not cope with their studies as they find no fulfillment with the choice of profession.
To sum up, it is my candid opinion that the young ones should be at liberty of making their own life choices as this brings them happiness, fufillment and overall, increases the quality of life.
