Many people believe that children should have mobile phones. I completely disagree with this statement because it negatively affects children’s behavior, health, and reduces face-to-face interaction.
Firstly, mobile phones can cause serious problems with children’s temper and behavior. Many parents give their children these devices for playing games or watching videos, but they often do not understand the significant downsides. For instance, children can become more aggressive and addicted to gadgets. If a child is already addicted and a parent tries to take the device away, the child may react aggressively. This is because their brains produce dopamine as a result of this addiction and the stimulation from games.
Secondly, mobile phones can adversely affect children’s health. Nowadays, children tend to spend all their time on their phones or tablets. This addiction to gadgets can lead to communication problems, as children increasingly prefer to communicate through screens rather than engage in real-life interactions with their peers. Consequently, their eyes can become strained, and their eyesight can deteriorate. Additionally, children become less active when they spend all their time in front of screens, which may also lead to a lack of sleep since the blue light emitted by screens reduces the production of melatonin. At the very least, parents should set limits for their children and explain the importance of not spending all their time in front of screens.
In conclusion, I believe that mobile phones have a harmful effect on children’s well-being. They can damage not only their physical condition but also their emotional responses and verbal communication skills outside of a screen. For these reasons, I think it is unnecessary for young children to have gadgets.
