Some people said that we have to stop using fossil fuels, and other kinds of non-renewable resources. While, many others believe that using irreplaceable energy is beneficial for economic growth. I believe that using fossil fuels has its own advantages and disadvantages.
First of all, fossil fuels can easily generate tons of electricity. Oil, gas and coal are common resources used in power mass production. One of the benefits is that non-renewable resources are high in energy. Coal and oil provide us more power in comparison to renewable resources such as solar or wind energy. Another benefit, it is quite affordable to choose fossil fuels compared to renewable energy resources. It can help lots of people who need an affordable power source. Moreover, fossil fuel can be transferred easily through a pipeline. The other benefit is that mining also provides job vacancies to many workers.
Despite all these advantages, there are some disadvantages of using fossil fuels. It can negatively affect our climate in the long term. We can clearly see that today’s environment is contaminated with chemical waste. What once was an animal’s home is now turned into an inhabitable place. Using fossil fuels also can produce mass ashes and dusts that populate our air that can heavily affect all living beings. In fact, climate change is the main result of using fossil fuels as a power source. On the other hand, mining provides jobs for people and contributes a lot to the economy of a country.
In conclusion, it is recommended for us to start using sustainable energy. The energy that can be produced without harming mother nature, such as solar energy, wind/water power. The challenge is how we can provide affordable renewable energy and keep the jobs for people.
