Computer games are highly demanded in all age groups and nationalities. Parents consider this has insufficient educational importance and will be damaging for children. I somewhat agree with this statement because computer games have bad effects on youngster’s health as well as it has insufficient educational value; however computer games can help children to improve their imagination.
There are several main factors to consider that computer games are harmful for children. Firstly, gaming too much has bad effects on not only children’s physical but also mental health. Computer games lead an inactive and desk-bound lifestyle which has different side effects for children’s health such as poor vision, bad posture, obesity. Computer games related to fights, wars which are especially trending among youngsters contain aggressive visual effects, war scenes and promote destructive behavior which can lead to severe mental problems, aggression, and hatred. As a result in today’s world there are a lot of people with eyesight problems and obesity, which are more frequently encountered, especially young people who have more tendency to spend more time gaming and children usually perform aggressive acts towards their peers and parents.
Additionally, maybe gaming can be educational to children but the contribution is not sufficient enough to be supported. To be more precise its advantage to visualize the different aspects of life without actually experiencing them, is quite impressive but it isn’t necessarily achieved by gaming but also other technological advancements such as videos, VR sets and extra-curricular activities such as acting and performing which doesn’t have the bad effects to children’s health.
Admittedly, gaming can have its own advantages for children when it is performed not in extensive time frames. Computer games can help children to improve their imagination, problem solving skills. To illustrate, computer games put children in different challenging situations that require them to give more attention, effort and also imaginative skills to try and solve complex situations, problems. Consequently, children actually improve their problem solving skills by using their imagination without realizing taking into account that these skills are vital in children’s future careers and can be challenging for parents to actually try improving these kinds of skills
In conclusion, although gaming is a popular activity among all ages and nationalities, I partially agree that it has insufficient educational importance and will be damaging for children in the long run; however if practiced in reasonable amounts can help children to improve their problem solving skills.
