It is true that crime rate in metropolitan area is escalating at a higher rate than village area. There are some underlying reasons associated with this trend and some feasible solutions that would be analyzed to deal with the problem in the essay below.
One the one hand, there are several reason why metropolitan areas undergoing high crime rate. On possible reason is unemployment issue which play an integral role to stimulate criminal activities in the urban area, due to their unemployment concerns, they unable to meet their daily demand. Therefore, they lead a miserable life and putting themselves in different offensive activities to fulfill their demand. For example, the majority people in south Africa often do some illicit activities due to their economic hardship and social inequality issues. Another key reason is lack of parental guidance. parents in unban areas lead to a hectic lifestyle, unable to look after their children effectively, thus don’t get any physical and mental support, which is beneficial to form children’s character, from their parent. As a result, they often take part in criminal activities since they don’t have adequate knowledge about what is right and wrong.
On the other hand, diversified measured can be implemented to address offensive activity in city area. One appropriate solution is, the municipal authority should set Strict law enforcement to address abusive activity in urban area so that inmates unable to do such offensive activities. For example, In Bangladesh, recently Government started devil hunt operation to hold inmates and raise public awareness about the negative consequences of unlawful activities and introduce them with severe punishment and harsh sentences. In addition, government should organize new job seminar and set up new organization and factories to provide job opportunity for the individuals and reduce unemployment rate in city. As a result, people will no longer committed crime in future and they would be able to lead a balanced lifestyle instead of letting themselves in offensive activities.
To sum up, although, it is true that, criminal acts is escalating rapidly particularly in the urban area due to unemployment and lack of strict law enforcement and parental guidance but some possible measures should be taken to mitigate this issue by organizing social awareness campaign, strict law enforcement and creating job opportunities for the individuals.
