It is true that making money is an important purpose of businesses. However, I mostly disagree with the idea that companies should concentrate only on making profits, because they also have responsibilities towards their customers, employees and society.
On the one hand, there are some reasons why businesses should focus on making profits. First of all, earning enough money is crucial for a company to survive. This is because if the businesses don’t have money to pay for their debit, they can go bankrupt. For example, the small restaurant needs money to spend for many things such as debit, its worker, rent and also other costs. Moreover, the profit can have businesses to upgrade the equipment and expand their companies. As a result, they can attract more customers and increase revenue.
On the other hand, I believe that businesses should not focus only on making money. They also need to care about their customers and the quality of their products. Firstly, If they just focus on profit, sometimes they can sell low quality products for customers. This can cause buyers to lose their truth to the company. For this reason, the businesses will have lower profit and productivity. In addition, sometimes they just focus on profit and don’t care about the environment. Therefore, they may try to reduce costs by using cheap materials or producing too much waste and it will cause pollution and damage nature. For instance, businesses like Tesla demonstrate that adopting eco-friendly practices can reduce environmental impact while appealing to consumers who value corporate responsibility.
In conclusion, although making money helps businesses to survive and grow, I believe that they should not focus only on profit but also focus on society, their customers and the environment.
