Being on my own taught me a lot about being independent. How to mange myself the best I can, and how to be self-reliant. For example when I started high school in another city, Bratislava. It was a major change in my life, because I started at a new school, I was spending my time with new people, and I was becoming more independent.
Was it easy? Was it hard? Well, it was a mix of both. When I look at it now, I can see both sides more clearly. For example, I had to learn to stick to a whole new schedule, which was easier than I expected. Having the school so far away from home made traveling more challenging since I spent about three hours a day traveling. One of the harder things was finding time to do things I like, things that make me happy, but I managed to do so. Also, being with my family and spending time with my brother was harder. But as time passes, I am able to manage that better, too. Were there any problems? As always, there were some problems, but nothing that could not be fixed. The lack of time spent with my family caused some misunderstandings and some conflicts. When it all cleared up we found ourselves doing the things we love together.
Overall, being on my own was a mix of highs and lows. While I liked the independence and freedom it offered, I also was more lonely and felt more pressured of managing everything myself. This helped me grow as a person, I started to appricate new challenges and valuing people more. Ultimately, being on my own taught me keeping a calm mind, being open to change, and the importance of my well-being.
