As the use of chemicals continues to shape modern food production and preservation, the ongoing debate about whether artificial additives bring more Benefits then drawbacks remains a widely discussed issue. While it is undeniable that chemicals have valuable advantages, I firmly believe that the negative aspects, including various health issues and mutations, as well as the loss of natural ingredients, far out weigh these pros.
At the outset, one notable advantage of artificial ingredients is the ability to provide variety of flavours for consumers, which fosters their expectation, as the use of chemicals are able to copy natural ingredients and even create new ones. Further to this, another significant upside is the privilege of having the opportunity to reduce cost of the products, thanks to availability of additives and high cost of natural fruit and vegetables. Nevertheless, despite these advantages, the considerable negative effects cannot be overlooked.
The primary factor tipping the scale towards disadvantages is different health issues, which primarily occurs as a result of prolonged exposure to consumption of dangerous chemicals. Building on this, another major flaw is the absence of natural products in our daily diet, often leading to even worse consequences, including mutations, cancer and diabetes, as a direct result of chemical additives in production and preservation.
All things considered, it becomes clear that the potential risks, such as loss of natural products, mutations, and long-term effects on health surpass the advantages, making it more harmful than beneficial.
