Nowadays, because of the population growth in some countries, countryside is chosen by governments to build new homes. I believe that this is positive development for people’s health and access to affordable house.
Firstly, policy maker prefers to provide house in the sub-urban due to the limited places in the cities. Majority of sites is used for industries and office building that makes the area very packed. Take example in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, many houses around the corporates zone which impacted to make their environment very crowded with their tiny houses. However, surrounding activities is impacted to people’s life, as a result, this condition may increase illness and reduce well-being caused by pollution from the industries and minimise social activities with neighbourhoods. Constructing house in the sub-urban will make people healthier both socially and physically.
Secondly, expensive land cost in the city centre influence government to provide new houses in districts area. This is because people’s income cannot afford the housing price in the cities. Some people prefer to migrate and commute with public transport or use their private vehicle to reach the city centre than buy a house there. Without subsidized housing, people who comes from middle- or low-income class may be difficult to own their houses.
In conclusion, despite city centre has a lot of public facilities and connecting many public transports, I strongly believe that providing a new house in the countryside bring many advantages. Many people able to by the house and get larger space for living.
