These days, many individuals are residing in small apartment rooms without any outdoor areas to accomodate the growing population. Although there are some benefits of living in limited spaces, I believe the disadvantages of this trend outweigh the advantages.
On one hand, the architectural design and structure of limited spaces can be advantageous to some people who prefer minimalistic and eco-friendly lifestyle. For example, keeping the use of space minimal in residential development can prevent over-cutting trees and affecting wildlife. Moreover, it is convenient for residents to maintain the space clean while saving utitility bills since it is much more compact compared to large rooms. Therefore, living in residential apartments with a small space can help the enviroment which is ideal for those who have eco-conscious living style.
However, the disadvantages of living in such places outweigh the benefits they offer. Tiny apartment rooms can negatively affect both mental and physical well-being due to its structure. With thin walls separating one room from another, residents living in studio rooms are more prone to noise pollution which can affect their sleep quality. Besides, without any outdoor areas, there are less free space to feel relaxed at home which can be suffocating at times. Although these issues can be seemed as minor at first, poor sleep quality and mental health may have a toll on the body in the long term.
Overall, staying in small spaces can be beneficial for some who enjoy minimalistic and environmentally friendly lifestyle but there are more disavantages since such lifestyle can be harmful mentally and physically in the long run.
