It is argued that recruiters ought to concentrate more on personal traits rather than academic and professional background while giving someone a job. I would argue that all these characteristics are of a great importance and equally vital, so managers should not prioritize one quality over another during the selection.
On the one hand, personal behavior is as crucial as the experience, for it determines, by and large, how the person adapts and aligns with the current existing system of a company or business. This is because a business do not seek people who can only be capable enough to accomplish a task, but also the one who can get along with other staff members as well. If, for example, an empoyer hires a person with a good qualification, who is arrognat about his or her achivements and underestimate others, that could potentially lead to serious disputes amongst workers. In short, having an employee with bad personal qualites is a recipe for disaster.
On the other hand, qualification is also just as significant as personal qualities. In my view, the better qualification and work experience stands for competence and quality work. There is no doubt that once a person is fine with their co-workers, then next comes their job quality, which matter to an employer just as much as personal quality should. Obviously, having hired a professional, a manager feels more confident about results, meaning the academic background in and of itself is a proof for better employee though it does not determine the personal quality. In this sense, hiring a qualified person for a job should also be taken into account by employers.
In conclusion, although it is asserted that employees should be chosen based on their personal qualities, I am of the opinion that both experience and personal qualities ought to be equally essential for employers whilst recruiting.
