Although the use of vehicles has a negative impact on the environment, an increasing number of people continue to drive by cars and motorcycles. Such a tendency is a common situation in modern society due to the overpopulation in most of the big cities and it is completely possible to avoid such a concern by a roads’ expansion and an introduction of new transportation facilities.
A significant increase in the number of people remains a serious issue. Most of the megapolises suffer from the problem of overpopulation and it is necessary for people to use the fastest type of the transport. In most of the cities work and study facilities are located in the central area and for the people who live in remote areas it is frequently complicated to commute. To decrease an amount of the time on the road, most of the people prefer to use their own cars and motorcycles, leading to the traffic congestions. Consequently, the central region of the cities might become overcrowded, which result in severe concerns related to environment such as air pollution and a decrease in the green spaces due to the emissions from the vehicles.
To handle these concerns several major steps are required. First and foremost, the Governments should invest on the transport system in general. To reduce traffic congestions, the roads should be expanded to the sufficient level. At the same time, new types of transportation should be introduced and developed, such as undergrounds and railway stations. By these suggestions not only would the vehicles’ intensity on the roads decrease, but the time for the individuals to get to their workplaces would be reduced as well. Moreover, by making central areas less overcrowded, it would be possible to extend green spaces and not only improve the air quality, but also make the design of the city more appealing. As a result, the general mental well-being of the citizens and the environment’s condition would improve substantially.
To conclude, the environmental issues caused by using cars and motorcycles are too large to be neglected. Even though this remains a severe concern for most of the cities, it is highly possible to reduce the negative impact on environment by redeveloping the transportation system. The expansion of the roads and an introduction of new the types of transportation might improve the situation dramatically.
