Band 7+: Environmental damage is a problem in most countries. What is the cause of this damage?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

These days, environmental damage has emerged as a critical global challenge affecting almost every country. This problem is mainly caused by human activities such as industrialization and overpopulation, but several attemps can reduce this rate. If no immediate action is taken, future generations may face serious consequences such as resource shortages and climate instability. Therefore, this issue requires immediate global attention and cooperation.

One major cause of environmental damage is industrial development. Factories consistently release harmful gases into the air and water, causing mainly climate change by damaging the ozone layer. Additionally, the increasing use of fossil fuels for transportation and electricity generation has significantly increased the side effects of global warming. Another important and active factor is cutting trees. People cut plants just for better architecture, urban expansion, furniture and mostly paper. This not only destroys wildlife habitats but also reduces the planet’s ability to absorb carbon dioxide. As a result, natural ecosystems become unbalanced and many animal species face the risk of extinction.

To solve this problem, governments should apply stricter environmental rules and ways. For instance, industries should mostly prefer recycled materials, improve forestation projects, use sun panels to obtain electricity. Besides with industries, individuals are able to benefit to protect habitat to reduce environmental damage. Recycling, reducing waste, and using public transportation would be quite effective to reduce environmental pollution. Moreover, raising public awareness through education can encourage people to adopt more environmentally friendly lifestyles.

In conclusion, environmental damage is largely caused by industrial activities and human consumption patterns. However, with strong government policies and responsible individual projects, it is possible to reduce its damage and protect the environment for future generations.
