Climate change and global warming are growing problems around the world. Yet, no legal actions are taken again individuals and subjects who harm the planet earth. I agree with this statement, as politicians misuse their power to hide their mistakes and these are regarded as issues for future.
Some political members are breaking rules by cutting down trees in rain forest and nature reserved areas. Although this is not a secret, no one is taking any legal actions again the people who break laws, as they have political help. When the leaders misuse their power then the public is helpless, as the politicians use their power for personal gain. This is one reason, why legal actions are not taken again, those who harm the environment. The Deanna TV channel once found that former president Mr. Perera was responsible for clearing Sinharaja nature reserved in 2023, but the court case was dismissed as there were no evidence against them.
Some lows change very quickly, so no actions are taken against those who are responsible for harming the planet. To elaborate, every years some laws and regulation get updated due to parliament involvement. As a result, people get the freedom to misuse natural resources. For example, building houses or factories was banned in Sri Lanka before 2012; however, a new law was imposed in 2013 December which allowed public to get state approval to build houses. Therefore, actions like these results in not taking any actions again anyone who is responsible for flood and polluting water.
To conclude, nature solution is a global issue, but states are not taking legal actions , as some political parties misuse their power and continuous change of laws.Environmental issues such as climate change have always been an international problem because governments are not imposing harsh punishments against offenders.
